Happy New Year! Wow…2025 has come and gone. We hope you and your loved ones are in a good spot. Because let’s face it, plenty of families are struggling. Scared. Maybe scared about money, our health, scared to go to school or work, maybe we’re scared for our neighbors. Maybe the only thing we can all be certain of is the uncertainty of these times. So, we do what we do best at Liberty Barbers, we double down and take care of each other the best we can. Maybe 2025 brought you many changes or maybe those changes are to come.
For us, 2025 was sort of a year of breakthroughs. If nothing else, we wish that for you. Maybe something that holds you back will finally come to light. Maybe that one thing that never works out, just does this time. We’re not necessarily talking about “success” or hyper achievement. We’re talking about something that brings you peace and helps you feel whole. Something that makes you feel like a better you. We had breakthroughs about communication, working as a team, and how to give and receive feedback a little better. We also had breakthroughs about acceptance and forgiveness and how those two small acts can be life changing. Even Moxie had a major breakthrough (which you’ll read about shortly). We hope you enjoy this issue, and we hope you enjoy this start to 2026!

HANNAH…Hannah never ceases to amaze us! Talk about breakthroughs, not only did Hannah become a licensed barber in 2025, but she also launched Doll Parts Designs focusing on her own line of earrings. BUT WAIT…THERE’S MORE! As if her barbering and jewelry making talent wasn’t enough, she is also enrolling in an online program starting in 2026. Ask her about it during your next appointment.
JENNY…Jenny is living her best life crafting and dancing up a storm. Her breakthrough for 2025 was her newfound love of driving and expanding her caretaking services. SMASHING THOSE TASKS AND THAT TRUCK 24/7.
CHRIS…Chris’s big breakthrough is that he can use fishing to teach life lessons, but nobody will listen or care because he never gets to go fishing.
DEBY…Deby’s big breakthrough of 2025 is that she should not rescue all the animals all the time.
DANNY…Danny is really hitting his stride and making great progress. His big breakthrough for 2025 was transitioning from a practice-oriented haircut to cutting for commerce! That’s great for his earning potential and speaks highly to his level of talent and attention to detail. You can book Danny on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting at 9 am!
MOXIE…One can only expect greatness from Moxie. Afterall, I am the one that told everyone how to be great. Nobody would have known. Along with being great, I discovered something really cool and I didn’t break anything like snack mommy (that’s scary). But listen, this thing is really big and not scary. You know I could always beagle this way and that. That’s baby stuff. And then basically those wizards shrunk me, and I then I knew how to beagle the 3rd way. No other beagle could do it. No matter how hard they tried, beaglin the 3rd way was only Moxie style.
But, get this. I realized there is a 4th way to beagle, and it’s called Beagling With My Mind. It came to me when I was just thinking about how my mommy should never, ever write about Gumbo in this newsletter. And I thought about it, with my mind. It was crazy and then she never wrote about him. I wanted chicken because I was chicken hungry, and dad made chicken. Boom. Beagled with my mind. Never has a beagle beagled with their mind before. Must be a big reason why I’m EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH, LITERALLY EVERY MONTH! I wish I could teach you the ways, but you barely know how to beagle this way and that, never mind the fourth way.

NEW ARTIST…Work by local artist, Brad Nunez, is now on display at Liberty Barbers. His pieces have a playful use of color and scenic imagery. Please check out his work on our website or the next time you stop in. Prices range from $80 to $100. Please contact us if you’re interested in purchasing a piece. All proceeds go directly to the artist. GRIPES AND GRATITUDE… If you put stickers on fruit and/or vegetables, you are a terrible person. I repeat…IF YOU PUT STICKERS ON FRUIT AND OR VEGETABLES YOU SHOULD BE PUT TO DEATH. Why do you hate me, but more importantly why do you hate tomatoes? I don’t want to make it difficult for the cashier, but there must be another way. What do you hate the most about this process you ask? Is it when the sticker won’t completely peel off my apple, or when I need to give my bell pepper a chemical peel to get it sticker free? The answer is yes. Yes, I hate it all. Do I accept it for what it is? I do. Can I forgive the sticker bandits? Seems a bit dramatic of a word for something that isn’t a personal slight. But I do. I do forgive.
